The Prince’s Followers

Kuroma

Kuroma was born in Honhwa province, to a conservative family in an agricultural community. Her brother Hu was given enough of an education to manage the family account books. Kuroma often found herself left behind or pushed aside. Her father did not favor her.

At the age of 15, she was abducted by the Prince’s men and taken to the Imperial Palace. Her fierce and impetuous spirit drew Prince Hu to her, and she is indeed a good champion for him. Unfortunately, she is also somewhat dangerous, as she somewhat acts on her baser impulses.

Asana

Asana was brought to the Women’s Quarters nearly a year before Kuroma. Her natural grace made her an instant favorite, but she is a cautionary and somewhat secretive young woman. Instructress ordered Asana to help Kuroma learn balance and poise after her failure in the string courtyard, and the two become friends and allies.

Asana was brought to the Prince’s movement through Kuroma. She has her own private reasons for resenting the current establishment, but they are not known.

Mitsuya

Mitsuya was raised on the borderlands, in a mountain village that sprung up to cater to travels between Chihang and the Bharet Republic. When the passes closed, the people stayed, and so Mitsuya and her family were there when both governments finally agreed to restablish trade. It lasted for only three summer, but Mitsuya quickly discovered that her isolated town’s traditions are not so dissimlar from those of the Bharetians.

When she was twelve, a party of noble lords came to the town. Mitsuya used the last of the precious henna her mother had secured to make herself into an exotic beauty. The lords chose to take her back to the Palace, and her family was paid a large sum for the honor. She maintains her unique style via a series of sources, the most consistent of whom is the Prince.

Kyoncho

Not too long ago, Kyoncho was Kyon Cho, daughter of a lesser nobleman. It was an honor for her to be considered desirable enough to enter the Women’s Quarters, and her family benefited. Kyon Cho was not entirely happy in her new position, however, and she took risks she probably shouldn’t have.

The ensuing scandal knocked her out of her seat among the noble consorts, and she name was shortened to the demeanign Kyoncho. She is still filled with a sense of anger and injustice, and was only too welcome to join with the Prince.

Major General Futono

Futono entered the military as a second son, and his family’s reputation combined with his skill helped him to advance through the ranks. The Prince spotted him early on in his career, and Futono has since seen Hu as his benefactor and deserving lord. His trust in him is absolute. Futono has been head of the Prince’s personal guard unit for several years now, and is also very involved in training novices.

Master Jun

The eunuch charged with managing the Women’s Quarters lead a very different life prior to that assignment. He tutored the young prince for several years, and is now willing to help his former student. His reasons are… very personal. Ahem.
