It began badly. Few wars begin well, but this conflict reached into every niche and pore of the empire of Chihang. Months before a single blow was launched, families became divided. It seemed like harmless politics: Stay the course, or expand their borders. Then men with power began to whisper behind closed doors. But they were not the only ones listening.

3965, Imperial Calendar
Chapter One Her stomach threatened to roll as she remembered again the hurk and gasp as her brother fell.
Chapter Two “Do you think me a wise man, ‘Ba?”
Chapter Three “I am not the Emperor’s new toy!”
Chapter Four “You wash up nicely… very nicely indeed, Kur’a.”
Chapter Five It had been a great time. A tumultuous time.
Chapter Six “Is she Lun Lo’s snotty twin sister?”
Chapter Seven “You will walk the marked path.”
Chapter Eight “I’m sorry. The first day is terrible for everyone.”
Chapter Nine The prince nodded. That was as it should be.
Chapter Ten “Kur’a… I found your brother.”

Chapter One Reddened hair fell to one side, framing Mitsuya’s angled cheeks. “He told me the truth.”

Chapter Four To her surprise, Yan Hua was wearing her favorite comb and—although obviously weary—she was smiling!
Chapter Five Where Kyoncho was recognized, the unsaid words became a din.
Chapter Six “What were you thinking?!”
Chapter Seven But that was yesterday. Today I have come to my senses.”

I am completely intrigued! I will be back often! I am trying NaNoWriMo also! Maybe we can motivate and cheer one another on!!! I have a couple of novellas that I started forever ago and never completed and so will start from those rather than from scratch as well!
